OR contacting employer

Is the OR allowed to contact your employer? The reason I ask is because I don't want my employer knowing I am bankrupt.

I cannot see any reason for the OR to do so. Are you in the financial sector?0

Hi,
Indirectly an employer MAY become aware via an NT tax code - but there are lots of other reasons for an NT tax code.

The OR does not routinely contact the employer, but they can contact anyone they wish as long as they have a reason that is in the interest of the case. For instance if they do not believe you are being truthfull about your income, or maybe if you have an attachment of earnings, or perhaps if you had failed to contact them when requested they may contact them to check if you are still around etc etc, just a few examples but in most cases they dont contact themHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0
