Gift box for homemade gifts

Evening all,
Xmas is approaching (woop) and this year I am looking to make some sweets and bits (courtesy of recipes on here - thank you) but I cannot find any nice gift boxes to put them in.
I tried Lakeland, Wilkos, Studio Cards.
Does anyone have any suggestions please?
thanks in advance!

Previous years I've got shoe boxes (various sizes from childrens to boots) and covered them with paper ........last year I got some red textured wallpaper that was ideal for christmas. Or you could cover them with xmas wrapping paper, providing its not too thin and doesn't rip when the glue goes on.
    Hope that helps:)

    Hi,
I had the same problem and used this site - not used the boxes yet, but they were reasonably priced and delivered speedily, and look to be right for the job (I'm not associated with the site/shop)

  • loving the cakecraft shop. and its fairly priced too! thank you! got tools, just gotta start making!
  • If your budget can stretch that far - could you put them in stockings? Tescos quite often do them and do a 3 for 2 on decorations near Christmas.

You can make small boxes for just a few sweets etc by folding paper to make origami boxes. This link is for a square one but there are others down the right hand sidebar.

  • I got cupcake boxes in Sainsburys today reduced to £2 for two. My plan was to remove the insert and put homemade sweets/biscuits in them. They're pink, sorry I can't find a link to them but they were around the party section.

Do they HAVE to be boxes? in craft shops you can buy cellophane card bags in various sizes quite cheaply (or look on ebay for either boxes or the bags). you could cut the sticky fold over bits off and tie the bags with nice christmas ribbon.

Wrap in cellophane then put into HM boxes? If you buy reasonably thick card you can make your own fold up boxes very easily. Most boxes fold up from one piece of car, you just need to make a template and cut them out with a stanley knife. Reinforce the base inside with a square of thicker card if you like. Just googling "gift box template" brings up loads you could print out or scale up, just practise on scrap paper until you have the technique down. Even something like http://www.cakecraftshop.co.uk/shop/products/id/clusn96901.htm is doable.
