2 jobs tax back?

Hi I now have 2 jobs one is full time and the other is just weekend work.

the full time job I have just started.

I'm getting taxed correctly on my full time job I believe but I'm getting around £55 tax back for working 1 shift at my part time job and this has happened for the last two pay slips. I hadn't noticed till today and they are closed now to ring up. I'm curious as I don't know if I can spend it or not.

on your payslip there should be
-a figure which gives your total earnings since April 2011 : this is often entitled 'Pay to date' or 'gross pay to date' or 'year to date' or somethiong similar
-a figure that gives the total amount fo tax you have paid since April often entitled 'tax to date' or something similar
(there is also figures for this month too)

it's these figures i'm asking for for both emplyments

also, when you started you full time job did you give them a P45 or did you fill in a P46?

    Full time 747L

Apart from the figures and P45/P46 info that Clapton is requesting, the first problem is that you have 747L tax code for both jobs which is wrong. You should only have your tax code of 747L applied to one job (probably for your full time job assuming you earn more than £7475) and BR or DO on the part time job.

Ok I believe my total earning is £3438.03 from the part time and it says and the Y.T.D says .00 PAYE because I'm getting 41.00- back and national insurance is .00 taken off me with YTD £120.13

Full time total earned since I started is £622.03 with Tax YTD £66.60 and NI YTD £41.28

    Sorry if this is confusing

    also it was a p46

Can you confirm tax code being used for the part-time job?

Again can you confirm tax code for full time job.

    What box did you tick?

Both tax codes are 747L and I think there was a box with something about having another job, I ticked that one

You need to get that changed asap. You can't have your tax-free allowances twice.

Phone up HMRC as soon as you can and get the situation sorted. If you will be earning more than £7475 in your full time job it makes sense to have the tax code applied to that. Get them to change the other tax code to BR or DO (BR if you will be earning less than £42,475 and DO if above).

If you are going to be earning less than £7475 in your full time job you can ask for your personal allowances to be split over the two jobs.
and I think there was a box with something about having another job, I ticked that one

If you ticked Box C, your employer should not be using a 747L tax code. They should have used BR.
