Oh and I forgot to say that it was an old guy that served me and although he scrutinised every coupon he was really polite and didn't make a big deal of it. Some of the coupons wouldn't scan and he then checked we had the correct items but he was really nice about it!OK so as I stated - todays trip to Mr S wasn't planned so I grabbed my binder and just hoped for the best - only had 15 minutes in there too, this is what I got:
2 x Andrex Wipes: 2-4-£2, used 2 x 0.90p coupons - 0.20p cost to me
2 x 4 Pack of Fruit Shoots: 2-4-£2.00, used 2 x 0.30p coupons - £1.40 cost to me
2 x Large Bottles of Fairy: 2-4-£2.50, used 2 x £1.00 coupons - 0.50p cost to me
1 x 725ml Vimto on offer for £1.00, used 1 x 0.50p Coupon - 0.50p cost to me
Should have been £12.46 before multi buy offers and coupons - I paid £2.60!
Also got 2 bathroom Soap Dispensers reduced from £6.00 each to £1.50 each!
Not bad for an unplanned trip!0 -
Came back from T's with 2x Ariel stain remover, currently on offer for £3 with £2 coupon paid only £1 each. Bold 25 washes on offer for £4 with £1 coupon paid £3!
Noticed that Philly is still on for £1 need to use my last coupon!
Didn't had (yet) any problems with coupons, if they don't scan they double check if I've got the right coupon for the right thing and put it throu. Only once was tiny bit embarassed when tried to use coupon for shampoo AND conditioner when only actually buying shampoo, luckily SA was nice0 -

Tried to use the Rustlers BOGOF coupons in Tesco this evening and they wouldn't scan for love or money. The guy on the checkout eventually agreed to enter them manually. Just a heads-up.0 -

OK, quite a sucessful day of shopping - I listed what I bought earlier at Mr S but I've just been to Mr T's as I had a few coupons that were due to run out today and I wanted to see if they had any offers on!
My bill came to £59.24 and after offers, coupons and vouchers I paid £33.19.
£33.19 is still quite a bit but I had steak, 2 packs of chicken breast, turkey mince and 3 lots of VO5 Hair products (No coupons for these and it kills me that my other half WILL NOT consider using anything else) which came to £8.34 in with this cost so overall not too bad!
I had to return something to Customer Services and the woman on the counter looked shattered and I got talking to her - and she was telling me how her husband had left her in a load of debt and she was doing 2 jobs to keep her head above water. I jokingly said that she should start couponing and she asked me about it and asked for the link to here! May be a good inside person for the future!
I have also found a really nice SA who never moans about my coupons and always looks forward to seeing what I save - might ask for her rota so I don't have to deal with trouts in the future!0 -

paulcornwall wrote: »Extreme couponing in america seems fairly normal, however it seems frowned upon in this country, i love the thought of coming out the shop with a trolley full of goods for next to nothing. The closest I came was a bulk load of Persil from Co- op. I'll keep on dreaming in the meantime.
' sadly we are made to feel a bit like criminals in a lot of stores in this country.:(
had a couple of good shops this week, did an £87 shop at mr t, paid 65p, and got £5 off next shop
then did a £57 for 14p,used the £5 coupon plus others, got £19.92 jtd, well pleased with that."Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift, which is why we call it the present.”0 -

OMG!
i've read this a few times over now and still trying to get my head around it, you really came away with £87 of groceries and were only 65p lighter in your pocket
if this isnt a typo, would you mind pls breaking it down just a lil bit to help a newbie [to this thread] understand how on earth that can be at all possible
thanks .

Love it, perfect couponing.
I hate Tesco as a shop, but one of the nicest assistants there - big smile when I see her on the tills. lol
Just need a copy of her rota.
