Went to A's last night as I had 2 50p mocs from their mag off Velvet toilet tissue. The moist ones have been rolled back to £1 atm so I picked up 2 of those. The SA looked at them and said that he thought they were only for the toilet tissue. I pointed out that it says on the pack 'toilet tissue', so he scanned them and I got my 2 packs for £1.

I’ve had a thorough trouting this week at Asda. You know, one of the ones where they see how many staff they can crowd around your checkout; go out of their way to look for reasons why your coupons shouldn’t be accepted; treat you with the utmost suspicion; come out with the classic line ‘Did you get these from the internet?’and my personal favourite - treating you as though the discount is actually going to be coming out of their own pockets. Eugh.
The supervisor (who I didn’t actually get to meet because she didn’t have the courtesy to come over in person, but her minions kept running off to her and then coming back to the till with her words of wisdom) decreed that I could only use coupons up to the value of 10% of my total shop. And my Greens coupon was only allowed to be 35p not 40p because the lemon pie filling only cost 35p.
I’ve emailed HQ to query this. My opinion is that if the coupon is valid and I’ve bought the product then a coupon should be accepted, and if a coupon is valid a shop can’t decide their own value to put on it.
Well HQ said they didn’t know the policy!!! So they referred me back to the wretched store again which, of course, has maintained their original opinions. Does anyone have any suggestions, apart from avoiding the place for ever more?0 -

I have found Asda to be brill about coupons the last few months, only needing a supervisor to check and over ride the till if more than 5 given.
I had the 10% carp in one store a month or so ago and just produced my letter and they said oh ok then scan them all:D
I think a lot of stores are being a lot more careful now that more and more people are using coupons and even more are taking the p**s by copying coupons as well.Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Did you email Asda head office customer service? I have a letter from them which says that there is no limit to how many coupons you can use as long as you have bought the product. It even gives an example which is something like i.e. if you have 12 x 20p of heinze baked beans you can use 12 coupons if you have bought 12 of them.

I thought I did email customer service. I think I'll email them again and hopefully I might get the same letter as you. TY0 -
I've always found Asda ok for taking coupons, apart from once I went to a different store and the girl didn't have a clue what she was doing, so that held up the queue for what seemed like an hour!
The only thing to mention is, for coupons that are more than the value of the item, ie the Greens for the lemon pie filling, and this is not just with Asda, with any store, I just look on these as a bonus if they just scan the coupon and don't key in the actual amount, some places (especially Superdrug), would key in the amount, like they did with the Dettol hand washes, they were on offer for £4.79 and the coupon was for £5, so they keyed in the £4.79. Sometimes Co-op do this for me too, but I just think, well I am still getting the item for free, then if they do just scan it, it's a bonus, as I have extra money off the rest of my shopping.0 -
I normally say to the SA at the start of the shop that I've got coupons and show them the wad. This is for their benefit and those behind me in the queue tbh. Asda have done the keying in of the price once, but that was because I was only doing a small shop. If it's a larger one they kind of forget the price so carry on. I see it as a bonus too. I also normally pick the younger male SA's. I know this can be seen as a bit sexist but when I give them the smile and chat to them, I normally don't have any issues with the coupons
