  • as to the holland & barratt vouchers that are around now, linseed is best there, although last week t did have it on offer at half price which was better, the alibi is best there unless you take a trip to waitrose where it is £1.09. the meridian nut and seed butters seem like a good deal but according to mys nowhere else does them so couldn't compare. as to the rest after checking last week they were not any good but might have changed with this weeks offers.

    hi Z
yes you can use coupons on self serve but they do have set limits on them, reach the limit and SA needs to authorise the rest but thats no problem if you buy correct items

i think each supermarkets different , but they will have a set £ limit or number of coupons used

There are also varying stages to SA authorisation. At the Sainsbury's where I sometimes shop the self service checkouts are configured to only allow 2 coupons, regardless of whether they scanned perfectly or were authorised by the supervisor. Beyond that, a message appears saying that no more coupons can be accepted and the SA will usually be unwilling to help further.

At that stage, it seems to require an even more senior member of staff to manually enter the value of any additional coupons as miscellaneous credits... some of them are happy enough to do this; others only begrudgingly!

On the Fairy Original 650ml ssm coupons in S's some people reported a while back the till only takes 1 x £1 off coupon and not the 2 x £1 coupons, they are on offer 2 for £2.50 when I went in the store a few days ago offer expires 24/04/2012. I could only use one as till only accepts one, I asked for it to be manually put through, they couldn't do that, so I called freephone S's cs they added 200 points to my nectar card.

Similar thing happened yesterday with a £4 Aunt Bessies and £2 McCain's voucher, self service wouldn't take vouchers, so I phoned S's cs they said go back to the store cs desk and explain the situation and ask them to put the vouchers through for a cash refund. If they refuse ask for the manager, and if they refuse again say that when I spoke to cs on the phone they agreed that I could send the receipt with the vouchers in the post for a refund, chances are S's will refund.

Just grabbed 6 packs of Fox's biscuits for free in S's using £3 using vouchers rec'd from Foxes biscuits following a compliment:T. Also, got some beer vouchers in the post today and a food parcel following a complaint:j

Some S have a setting on their till software which means 2 identical couponstar coupons (even if personal barcodes are unique) simply won't go through in one transaction and even the managers in some stores cannot override this xx
