Just back from Mr T's, £54 shop down to £17, mainly thanks to the innocent veg pot coupon. AND I got a 5p of 1L petrol till spit! Well chuffed!

Also, can confirm that Mr T will take you Aldi £5 off £30 voucher (until the 31st that is), think the SA put it through as a manual coupon.

Thanks also to MT and everyone else who has offered up coupons;)

Hi, I've been refused Aldi's £5 off £30 coupon at Tesco Copdock. After contacting customer service that's what they said:

    Dear Sebastian

    Thank you for contacting us.

I am very sorry that you are unhappy with our decision to stop accepting competitor coupons in our stores and I would like to explain the reasons behind this.

We have carried out a lot of research into finding out what our customers want when they go shopping, and the feedback shows that one of the key things is lower prices. We are very committed to helping our customers spend less at the checkout, so we have taken this feedback on board and have already dropped the price of 3000 popular lines.

We would not have been able to invest so heavily in our Big Price Drop without reviewing some of our current offers and unfortunately, the acceptance of competitor coupons was something that we could not sustain. However, we believe that our customers will welcome cheaper prices over being able to use an occasional competitor coupon.

From now on, we accept all Tesco and supplier/product coupons as long as you have purchased the product, and we will continue to issue and accept Tesco Price Check coupons on the rare occasion that your shopping is cheaper at Asda.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us. I hope this information is helpful.

    Kind Regards

    Julie Inwood
    Tesco Customer Service

Just seen this posted, good old tesco eh! I thought their excuse for dropping double clubcard points was the price drop.

What triggered your petrol coupon do you think?

I only spend less than £25 and most of it was pet food - I wonder if it was pet food or Felix in particular that triggered mine ???? Just have to find some more 5p petrol MOCs to make it worthwhile going to Tesco for petrol now :D

Seems to be their excuse for alot of things! Love the bit they say 'on the rare occasion asda is cheaper', if they compared it properly it wouldn't be so rare!

what a load of excuses tesco have
even with the new price drop
alot of there product are still dearer and when they are not many times its only cheaper by a penny or two.

there conditional spend policy was one of the only/main reason i shopped there, so can i'll be shopping there alot less from the end of the month

I would be saying the same thing, if only I didn't live in the Tesco town that is Inverness! We have a Morissons and a Coop and FOUR Tescos :eek: All within a just a couple of miles of each other!
The sooner Asda gets here the better!

Gave Mr T's a miss today, couldn't really be bothered with it. Might go for a wander tomorrow though and see what's doing ;)
