  • Foodwise lots of churches and community groups have food boxes they give to those who need them, and I can assure you many even middle-class ppl are happily provided with boxes when in need, not just those on benefits/jobless. Swallow any pride and pop into your local church tomorrow, they'll know who can help.

It is illegal to post date a cheque, it can be banked anytime after it has been signed.

  • Hiya,

Just another offer of help from the Northwest if you're anywhere near me??

If not, only other thing i can add is take a quick look on the 'grabbit' part of the forum. Tescos are doing loads of discount stuff on the value range, penne pasta for 22p, tinned curry sauce for 7p, things like that and many more (just my memory is pants!) . Might not be the most appealing of dinners, but may fill a hole......

Re a grant for school uniform, this is dependent on area, in my area, there are no grants for school uniforms regardless of benefit status.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
