Cloned debit card - the fools!

We had a call from our bank today to ask if we were currently using our debit card in Canada (I wish!!).

Obviously the card has been cloned but it gives us great satisfaction that our poverty stricken status means that they were unable to obtain any cash, and that the card was refused in the shop they were trying to use it in!!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

So, to anyone wanting to clone a debit card - find someone with cash in their account

:TThats really funny and I'm glad you've seen the funny side of it :)

I'd have loved to have seen their faces when the card was declined.:rotfl:

It might be worth checking they haven't cloned any other bits of you? Well, not literally - but maybe it'd be worth ensuring any other accounts you have are ok?
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

I don't think they would be interested in my cellulite or stretch marks, although I would be happy to palm these off onto someone else!!!

We have checked all other accounts and I will keep an eye on stuff over the coming days and weeks.

Yes the bank did call us at home - so obviously not in Canada:rotfl:

  • We had our 'identies' stolen 2 years ago-It was hell.
They managed to up our overdrafts on our joint accounts to £5k EACH (how, I'll never know since I couldn't get it normally) and take the lot...
I'd love them to try now! lol
It is scary though isn't it...

A friend of mine is on some kind of secure register as she had identity theft done to her. She didn't know until she had a letter from child tax credits about some award. Once it was alerted she then found out that the person had taken out allot of money in loans and opened bank accounts for them to be paid into.
It was quite a frightening time for her as she didn't know who was going to be knocking on the door and it took quite a while to sort out as well. It's very scary to think someone can do this.
  • lol I did have a chuckle at that... I would've paid to see their faces! Serves them right I say.
