How long left?...

Hi,

Just a quick query on what stage were at, my wife and I are FTBs and are in the process of purchasing a property, it's been going on since May this year and we've hit the following milestones with our solicitor:

Purchase Agreed
Instructions received from agent
Client confirmed instructions & search fees paid
Contract received & queries raised
Mortgage offer received

Now I've received an email from my solicitor stating 'I have an email to confirm we should receive the final search back by email tomorrow evening or the latest Monday when we can arrange an appointment to go through all documents with you. You will need to bring with you your identification papers i.e. driving licences/passports together with a utility bill or bank statement indicating your current address'

So what does this mean, how long is left, are we near then end!?

Feedback appreciated! :D

At the meeting with the solicitor, if everything is ok, you'll be asked for your preferred completion dates. These will be put forward to the other parties in the chain until a date convenient to all can be agreed.

Once the completion date is agreed, contracts can be exchanged and the completion on the agreed date becomes legally binding.

  • Thanks Kingstreet, the property we're purchasing is a deceased estate so it's been empty since the process started, I guess we don't have that long to complete!

Check the sellers have obtained probate and the benifitiaries are happy with the price.
