Tell DD/DS to hurry up and get some sort of badge so you can sew it over the mark?
Seriously though, after a couple of months of hard beavering they all look like scarecrows anyway. Whoever decided that Beavers should wear that easily marked colour should be shot. At least when they get up to Cubs and Scouts they get to wear a useful dark green and by the time they get to Explorer the clothes come in a lovely shade of Muddy Khaki. My suggestion though is to do your best then forget about it if the mark doesn't come out. There's going to be a lot more marks if your child is getting stuck in and enjoying themselves.Val.0 -
I'd be tempted to stick it in the freezer overnight and see if that solidified the glue so you could pick it off and then wash.
However, I'm not sure what sort of glue would leave you with a greasy mark and if it is grease a solvent based remover should have worked at least a bit. If it really is greasy, I'd be inclined to go with washing up liquid, well rubbed in and then stick it through the washer. I think the Ariel and Vanish type removers are more about bleaching out stains so that might be why they aren't helping. If you're desperate and it is now 'all or nothing' you could try a dab of white spirits? And if the worst comes to the worst you could always buy one of those 'motifs' froma haberdashery and sew it over!0 -
thankyou. the leader was going to speak to the maufacturers of the glue as it shouldnt have done it. a few of the lads had the same
its not in the right place for a badge lol
she said he can still wear it for parades but he will look a right minger wont he??0 -
Have you tried a 'stain devil they make all sorts of remover type stuff and if some of the others have a propblem why not split the cost between other Mums0

In my experience (DD is a Cub, DS an Explorer Scout) they all look like refugees from Just William books in the parades anyway, no matter how hard you try. No-one buys two sets of uniform so they wear the same set for a full weekend camping, outdoor trail work, parades and all the rest, lol. Don't get so worried about a grubby Beaver Scout...it's perfectly normal and he'll blend right in.Val.0 -
thankyou, i will try all the suggestions, and if it dosnt work lol i wont stress!!!0
