Simple Question

Hi
Perhaps I am getting excited for no reason. My wife and I applied for Halifax mortgage on Monday. Spoke with broker and I am advised that everything looks okay BECAUSE Halifax have instructed for the valuation to be done on Monday. Does this mean I have any guarantee of getting mortgage offer?

I would assume that your broker told Halifax to not go to survey until all status checks were returned satisfactory.

If so, yes you're on the home stretch once the app goes to survey, the surveyor will forward his report to Halifax (and assuming no valuers comments to address), you should receive your offer within the next 7 days.

Thanks for your response. IDK if broker had instructed anything of that sort. When the application was made on Monday, they charged my credit card with £430 same day at around 2pm for valuation fee. So dont know. Also, my wife and I are an overseas immigrant so its quite possible that they may have done those checks. WHen I spoke at broker's office they advised that it appears all fine as the papers are with Underwrites !!! Every FTB's nightmare word - UNDERWRITER :rotfl:

Edit - It is a new build so very unlikely there will be something picked up in Valuation!!! Agonising wait !!!!
