Help before BR

Going BR Tues...yikes.

Thought I had everything in place but as usual its gone tits up.

I have transferred my benefits payments (tax credit & CB) to be paid into my PO account.

So then I asked work to change bank details for my wages (using a friends details). However found out today that it wouldnt be actioned for the next pay day (28th).

Can you tell me what will happen to my wages? I bank with my main creditor and these will be paid in on the 28th of the month. I am very worried now as I need this money to pay my rent, bills & food. The benefits will pay for my childcare (£400!) but after that I am stuck. If they keep my wages from me I will go down. I have rent to pay and am a single parent of 2 young boys. HELP PLEASE XX

Hi kez, i went br last month and my family allowance and tax credits were slow in acting so i lost a weeks money it was hard, my OR said i could go to the bank and take it out but as i would of had to take it out of the overdraught the bank declined me taking any money out of the machine i felt sick, but explain to your OR when they ring they may let you take the money out before the freeze the account. good luck the court thing is ok just waiting around for them to do the paperwork, so take a friend or book and some money for a coffee. best of luck x

You should have been able to access the money over the counter though as by the bank keeping it they have taken money against a debt post BR. Once BR, none of your creditors are allowed to chase and you should not pay them anything...

Thanks lots everyone. I am praying that work will pay me by cheque but doubt it. I need that money to pay rent, food etc etc so will do everything I can to get it. Watch this space lol

Just to let you know my work have agreed to pay my wages into a friends bank account :T So hopefully they will be safe. Will just tell the OR that I have done that and hope he/she is okay with it.

Going BR tomorrow - am totally scared & feeling sick but want it over.

U havent put the Co op Cashminder account on my form cos it isnt open yet so dont have any details.

Good news with work the OR will be fine with it all so try not to worry

I know its a horrible feeling but once its all over with you'll wonder why you worried so much...someone I knew once described the day at court like a visit to the post office!
