Gifts for best man/groomsman

Hello all,

Getting married in Auigust next year, and have no idea what to give my best man and groomsman as a gift. Will probably try to give a unique or persoanlised version of a classic gift - the trouble being that I have no idea what the 'classic gift' for a best man and groomsman is!

Any ideas?
Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.

Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j

  • My boyfriend got an engraved pewter tankard when he was an usher at his brother's wedding - those seem to be quite a popular choice.

    Or maybe cufflinks?

I gave our best men / ushers / groomsmen cufflinks (all a matching theme) in the morning and nice pocket watches (decided not to engrave in the end, but included a nice card in the box) during my speech. I got an engraved set of scotch glasses for being usher once and some cufflinks for being best man at another.

Tankards ...hip flasks...cufflinks... are all the traditional types of things...

You could look at experience days / race track vouchers or something like that if you want a little more modern...my husband was given tickets to top gear live...which for him was very appreciated..

they are really lovey and can be personalised with detials of the suit and colours etc, they went down really well as we didnt want to get the same sort of things that they had perhaps been given before and sit in the cupboard.
We got the socks for a gift in the morning to wear that had grooms man/best man on them, and then the glasses were given after the speeches.

hope you get a good idea and find the best presents!

  • I think tankards are quite traditional for the best man. I found one with a nymph handle which I thought was a bit cheeky and completely summed up our best man. We got it engraved as well. This is the link, but not where I got it from. We got ours from Hinds jewellers and was a bit cheaper but I don't think they're doing them any more:

As for the ushers, I found Union Jack cufflinks in shades of grey from H Samuels at half price for £7.
