I got a letter from cahoot yesterday it said that they had contact from a third party debt help agency about me but i havent
Anyway surely debt help charities etc cannot go around tellig creditors thier helping without your say so?
Bit worried someone has my information any one had anything similar?

I'd contact the bank, tell them you have given no such authorisation, could they give you some details regarding the matter so you can take it further. That's brach of data protection act or something, surely.This year I'm getting organised once and for all, and going to buy a house with my wonderful other half. And that' s final!

i thought that, Ive emailed them and demanded to know who it is, cahoot dont make phone numbers easily accessible, plus i have it writing then.

Very strange! Those of us who are with CCCS/Payplan, etc., have had to sign statements that confirm that we have given these organisations authorisation to contact our creditors on our behalf. These have to go to the creditors before the whole DMP process starts.0

Well its looking more like a ploy to me, i contacted them and they said sorry we can only answer over the phone as no other method is secure! So Im writing back now saying i only want corresspondence in writing and they are to tell me who this company is in writing sent to my home address.
Thats fair isnt it?

Does sound suss doesn't it! Why not play them further. Ask them for a copy of the correspondence they received from the debt help agency regarding you?0

haha! I got a response straight away ( after i sent the email demanding the information in writing ) saying they had made a mistake and sent the wrong letter!!! it had my account on the top of it!
Very suss
They then said they would hold off doing anything until the end of the month though but goes to show i may well need to watch out for funny tactics from them.
