Martins PPI Advice, Can anyone give me some?

Hi all,
I watched the programme last night about PPI Insurance and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice?!!
All my debts are currently with the CCCS, so the whole totals have been passed on to debt collectors etc. I have two loans, one with HSBC and another with Halifax. They both have ppi's on them. I had a look at my contracts last night the HSBC one has a £780 policy and im not sure the total of the Halifax one as it doesn't say anywhere. If i called these, would i be able to deduct theese amounts?
