Injury at work and now they want to sack me - nice!

This happened to me a few years back,I suffered a back injury which at first did'nt seem too serious. Before the full diagnosis was declared I think it was about two weeks later they sacked me.I had'nt been there long enough to claim unfair dismissal, but I did put it in the accident book and I did claim industrial injuries which I receive for life.I also sued them and won a considerable sum (despite my only witness at work suddenly being promoted and then telling me she knew which way her bread was buttered and didnt realy remember when she thought back what happened on that day)So don't give up try everything you can,it may be worth the bother in the end.0

An "over three day injury" would apply, the employer shoul report within ten days of the incident occuring. The three days does not have to be an absence, it could be the employee is unable to do their normal job and the employer should still report.Don’t be a can’t, be a can.0 -

This happened to my husband too, last year, he had been off work with his back due to a accident at work when he lifted a table that should have been a 2 man lift on his own due to being short staffed.
To cut a long story short after being threatened with the sack he went back on light duties but then they asked for doctors report which he allowed them to have, as luck had it his back was alot better by this point and physio told him he didnt have to go anymore, so he retuned to work on full duties. And handed his notice is a week later when he got offered another job which he had started looking for as soon as they threatened him. They were fuming as they had paid for the doctors report and finding a replacment caretaker in 2 weeks didnt happen.!!!
Please keep a record of everything, dates, what was said, by who ect, we made a record and are now considering sueing them for the original accident.
Good luck.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0
