problems with CSA-any help appreciated

Hi, hoping someone can help, I`ve had many dealing with the csa, my case goes back to mid 2006, I have 3 girls ages 15,13,10.
I know I`m in arrears by approx £600, and have been paying £320 a month since Dec 2010 to incorporate this,as well as other payments previous to this.
My income/work situation being up and down,my avg wage is £312 net per week.
I have an agreement with my ex wife to have my children on avg 1.5 nights per week.

I have recently been re-assessed and my payments have increased. To my frustration, the csa have no record of me having my children 1.5 nights avg per week, the previous arrangement being avg 1 night per week.
The newer arrangement, where I have been having my kids avg 1.5 nights per week , has been in place for about 12 months.
The csa has asked for evidence of this arrangement, and I have asked my ex-wife for a letter to back up my claim. My ex-wife doesnt want to get involved, and has declined.

Also, do the CSA keep a record of every phone call made, ie record all calls? When I spoke to someone in Aug to change my DD payments from the 23rd to the 1st, I was told this was fine, I just needed to made an additional payment of £90 for the 8 days I would miss. I then called them up on Tuesday 13th Sept to discuss the re-assessment, and the other lady advised that the payments are fixed and I have to pay £322.66 on the 23rd Sept, and another payment of £285.75 on the 5th Oct.
My payments from there are £382.65 per month then it will drop to £310.42 from the 5th May 2012

I dont believe this is correct, and there is no way I can afford these payments. I don't think this is a fair assesment.

Any help is welcome, and many thanks in advance.

There wouldn't be a change if the nights have only changed from 1 to 1.5. It would have to change to 2 or more.

Shared care goes in bands of 52, Band 1 is 52 nights to 103 nights, Band 2 is 104 onwards.
If the children stay with you 1.5 nights per week then this would mean it will be less than Band 2, therefore the shared care they have put you on is correct. It would be the same if you had the children 1 night per week, 1.5 nights per week or 1.9 nights per week - it's less than 2 nights per week so doesn't take you into the next band.
  • How do you have them half a night? Do they go home at 2 in the morning?

But she is involved!!!!!!! they are her children too and the CSA case is hers too!!!!!

Unfortunately I don't think you get a reduction for 1.5 nights a week.
The way the CSA recalculate payments when there is a change ie., in DD dates etc., is beyond me, but I know we have paid odd amounts some months too.

Presumably you are on CS1 ?

not 100% on csa1, but isn't the threshold for reduction on overnights 102?

The case should be on CS2, I believe the OP mentioned his case being opened in 2006.
