It's your definition that the market is dead, which does not correspond to most others
How specifically has it changed?
Explain how the requirements are more onerous? I've just applied for two BTL remortgages and one new BTL mortgage so I know what the current requirements are.
BTL sales have nosedived - no one has disputed that. You'll also find that standard residential mortgages have also "nosedived".
The market for mortgages in total have been affected by the last few years economic ipact.
certainly doesn't explain your "market is dead" anology
If something is dead, its not moving. Do we need to re-iterate again that the market is still moving.
I've a feeling of deja-vu with you on this, it's just like another of your aeroplane soft-landing pisodes
YIt's your semantics that appear to be different from the norm.
Your right though, your "Tedious and pointless pedantry won't change that."
So lets summarise.
You incorrectly state that I have "moved the goal posts" despite the fact that my reasoning has been consistent from the start.
You asked questions that have in fact been answered.
And they you've launched into yet another pedantic semantic dull-a-thon, in exactly the way I've stated you are doing.
You're about two posts away from stating that BTL won't officially be dead until its put in a box and given a gravestone.
To summarise....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
If you're feeling deja-vu its no doubt because you think that simply ignoring all arguments whilst doing no more that reiterating your own is a worthwhile debating technique.

Oh, look, geneer claims victory. Hurrah!0

Oh, look, geneer claims victory. Hurrah!
My two year old is at a stage where he wants to win everything.
The difference is, in the main, I let him win i.e. get to the top / bottom of the stairs first, thus he has demonstrated the win.
Poor geneer claims victory which is only verifiable by himself
for a brief second I though about posting a poll.
Is the BTL Market dead?
1) Yes
2) No
But then I remembered, who the fcuk cares, it's only geneer that claims it is dead:wall:

If the 70% club are demonstrably ignored because their membership according to you is 2, what does that say about the BTL Market is dead club with 1 member
Do you wear a sandwich board for your day job?:wall:

Aren't buy to let mortgages interest only? I also thought that interest only mortgages also now have to have repayment vehicles. Surely that will have an effect on profitability.
On top of that those who have been gearing their properties are more exposed to property price falls. Buy to let repossessions are already starting to rise and represent the section of the market most likely to get repossessed.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.
