Can you haggle over the cost of new specs?

  • Now that IS interesting! Many thanks for that £135 for a new pair all in plus similar lenses put in my existing sungogs would almost certainly bring the cost in at less than the usual £250 or so they stripe me for.

I'll print out the leaflet and take it with me - they can't argue with hard evidence!!

    Thanks again
  • And don't forget if you need to wear specs for some PC use at work, you might be able to get some money from your employer.
    Another ask/haggle.

  • Thanks - that's taken care of. I work in IT so the Company pays for all eye tests. Pity they don't pay for the glasses too!

I wear varifocals, and know that most of the online sites will not sell these. I have been using a site called Zenni for about 4 years now, and have never had any problem with them. I tend to order 2 pairs at a time, at a total cost of about $90, including delivery!
The site is American, but the glasses come from China
  • Hmm, interesting. Thanks for the tip.

What about if you get them and they're just not right for you for whatever reason - is it a hassle sending them back and getting a refund or don't they offer one?

With the asda offer you're cheaper buying a second pair of glasses as they charge £40 plus cost of lenses for a patients frame reglaze.
