Selling gold jewellery in Glasgow

I was thinking of selling some old gold jewellery and wondered if anyone could suggest where to take it within glasgow to get an idea of how much it is worth.

Hi, I had a very small amount of gold and took it to the Argyle Arcade. First stop was McGowans (close to the Buchanan Street entrance). They had a quick look and offered my £280. I asked if they would mind me going for a second opinion and I took it over to Mr Harold, which is almost opposite. They examined everything really carefully and offered me £340 which I quickly accepted. They paid me in cash right away. My husband was astounded as I really had so little and it looked like a right load of rubbish. The staff said it was a big part of business now and they have people bringing in gold all day long.
