I'd quite like to see a few more threads in here where someone asks a pension related question and those who can, help them.
Not loads of off topic squabbling or political grandstanding. There are boards for that.
Just a thought.

It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

100+ views and 1 thank (acknowledged) later it appears that people do prefer to indulge endlessly in political verbiage & ad hominem attacks rather than helping those with reasonable queries.
Ever thought this may be putting off other members or lurkers who have legitimate questions ?
I'm all for robust debate and even ah attacks on those I profoundly disagree with but this seems to have taken over the pensions board at present rather than being confined to somewhere like Discussion Time. I joined MSE after I found an answer to a work related query here and thought I could maybe give something back based on my own knowledge & experience. That's getting harder due to all the white noise.
Sad.It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

I think there are too many people who aren't paying into pensions that their friends and unions say are Cr*p so they aren't here asking.
Then take into acct some of the "Can I cash in my pension today as I just seen summat I wanna buy" no longer being posted due to the new sticky, and you can see why it is so quiet.
Or maybe too many people are watching TV and new reports of the demise of the Euro and another rogue trader lol.0 -
I assume it is aimed at the two rather daft threads in force at the moment from a couple of daily mail readers.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

Slightly, although I'd be surprised if one of them was a DM* reader, unless it was on the know your enemy principle. There's also the long running talk to yourself CPI/RPI threads.
*It used to be a newspaper, the dear old DM, back when I were a lad, too long ago to think about now. Unless it was only because I was a lad that I thought it was a paper. It only takes one tree to make a thousand matches, it only takes one match to burn a thousand trees. As well, the cars are all passing me, bright lights are flashing me.

Well, the sticky doesn't really work completely as we have another Can I cash in my pension" again today lol.0

I wouldn't say so, I quite like the discussions! At least in here rather than DT, you can have a sensible debate.0 -
