Hello everyone Newbie here
.
Well A little background. Me, I am 19 (nearly 20 aaaagh) and work for a solar panel advisory service, studied animal management and worked with tropical fish for two years but had to leave due to circustances. Went from homless with no job and a bin bag in either hand to now having my own house (rented) in the countryside and my own little car (okay it was 700 quid but I like it) in two years. My Fiance works away at the top of Scotland driving a tree harvester, he has debt due to bad decisions before we met (3 years ago) and has to pay £365 a month for somthing he doesnt have for but we only have 21 months left:D.
Our dream is to start up our own pest control business, he previously was a gamekeeper and very experienced in the field and hunting is actually how we met and I personally think their is a gap in the market for our idea. Not to mention the fact I would love him to be home every night.
We both have a decent wage and dont have a lot of money left over at the end of the month but we never struggle.
What I want to know is how we can increase our income or what can we invest or money in to make our dreams come true, most of the work will be down to me due to him working away, any suggestions? even a extra £50 is a step in the right direction:)

Hi Jenny, I'm a newby myself so I hope you won't discount my ideas because of that.
You live in the country and have an interest in animals and wildlife, from other posts you have made, I think you and your B/F should look at the survivalist scene ie foraging, wild camping, nature awareness, tracks and signs courses etc.
How about running wildlife photography courses using B/F as a guide and advisor. he could easily be turned into a GWC (Ghillie with camera? Sorry folks, industry joke) You need to research usefull land area's near you and maybe make a deal with local hotels/B&B's to put up clients and maybe get a commission. why not try taking pics yourself and submit them to stock libraries. The money isn't brilliant but all helps.
I don't know where you live but I will take photo's of anything and would certainly be interested in having a chance at photographing pine martins or wildcats for example. I think many would pay for the chance.
Other than that, internet and webdesign work are my only other suggestions
Please be gentle with me, I'm trying!!!!0 -

Great Idea and I shall defonatly try that myself as I love photography and would love a really good camera. Although pest control (with the outlook of balancing wildlife populations and not iradicate them) is his passion this could be a good way to branch out

We live about a 1/4 of a mile, if that, from the north yorkshire moors so great when the grouse (my fiances favorite bird and what he used to work with) are breeding, he can call them in using a special call so they come and stand right next to the car, only just out of arms reach.
Oh talking of pinemartins, my fiance rang me to say he had seen one cross the road the other week, I never new how large they were and not so long ago he saw a wild cat (not feral).
Thought you might like this image, it was taken using a compact and no tripod but what a beaut of a stag he is
(oh man i cant post pics)0 -
Sorry, I think I might have been a bit ambitious for you when I said Photography 'courses', I think the word I should have used was 'Tours', where your's and your B/F's knowledge could be used to guide people to the right position at the right time. I'm a good Lancastrian so shouldn't wax lyrical about the Yorks Moors but they can be very photogenic for landscape work. Maybe that's another option. Scout the moors for vantage points ( Don't forget there are disabled photographers as well)0
