Just bumping this up. Any help with this is fully appreciated. Thanks.0

Probably you would get more answers if people knew why exactly you want this information, and what you intend to do with it.0

Whilst it won't tell you directly, if you look at the CS job sites you can work it out
http://www.civilservice.gov.uk/jobs/index.aspx
https://atsv7.wcn.co.uk/company/nghr/jobs.cgi
In addition many departments publish them on their websites, eg:

And there was me thinking this was a forum, not some kind of cryptic crossword!0

OK, sorry to be so cryptic, so here's what it is.
I work for a NPPB, we are set to become civil servants in 2012. It's seems that we will keep our salaries but I'm not sure as to whether the work I do is AO or EO level. I guess that my salary would be lower than most AOs in the civil services. I worked for the DWP, left in Jan 2011, at that time the rate for an AO was around £19,500.
Like I said I know it varies a lot (like above the rate for AO in HMRC is about £21,000).
I just wanted a little insight.
Thanks0 -
Seeing as how you dont mention why you want this info or what you are going to do with it I can offer you only the following as an ex AO a few years agothunderb0lt wrote: »Hello everyone,

thunderbolt what do you do/duties tasks current title. EO used to confer some level of experience/seniority ie junior/line management levelWhat Would Bill Buchanan Do?0

Generally EOs make decisions, and may have some management responsibility - of course a lot of AOs make decisions, but they don't seem to get recognition.
I'm in hmrc and an EO ranges from about 18-26k, while an AO goes from about 13-19k outside London. Obviously, anyone entering either band in the last fifteen years will never see the top of that banding - I've been in grade for 8 years, with good or better staff reports, and still have to be uplifted to the bottom when they change the bandwidth.... That's not at all annoying!
Good luck0 -
It will depend on which department or executive agency whether work is graded AO or EO. Salaries can vary and can depend on location, ability, length of service. A few AOs will be earning more than EOs.
When I started, you knew exactly what salary you were on and how long before you got to top of scale. When I got out 5 years ago on early retirement, salaries were all over the place. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
Thanks for the replies everyone. They have kinda suggested that we will have the same salaries. However, I think that the gade which we get moves over to with have a higher salary threshold.
Like lincroft1710 has said there are some AOs who get more than EOs. It lwas like this at teh DWP where I worked previously. Not all EOs will have team leader/line manager responsibilities.0
