Xmas presents to New Zealand - any ideas?

This will be the first year we will have to send xmas pressies the the in laws as they moved out there in the summer. I haven't got a clue what to get to send over!! family consists of mum, dad and 13 year old boy. They are lovely people, military and midwife background but am racking my brains on what to get.

Anyone got any ideas please???!!:)

  • maybe a couple of things that they cant get over there - heinz ketchup, their UK brand of tea bags, cadburys chocolate. Football (is in Soccer) stuff for 13 yr old.

We usually send to my Aunt & her family (in NZ), a photo calender of the family made on truprint/photobox, some novelty socks (England or football related) a couple of small bars of chocolate. Sometimes they might request something that they cannot get there or to replace something that we have bought previously.

Really just a small "token" gift that shows we are thinking about them, rather than something of more value that we would have bought if they lived here. (Mainly because of the postage)

Would say vouchers but you might want to take a look at NZ based websites that can deliver Christmas hampers. Cut down on the postage as well.

My grandmother in law, brother in law, uncle in law . . . you get the idea, his side, all live in Aussie. We send Cadburys chocolate, haribo (when nephew was younger) terry chocolate oranges, M&S tights (it seems aussie ones are carp) and tesco value digestive bars :rotfl: as they are nannys favourite :rotfl:. Basically it was stuff they missed from home :) They would then send us back cadburys snack bars, mini boosts and caramel drops :D mmmmmm

We usually get 2kg worth of stuff (including box) and send it snail mail which takes roughly 6 weeks to get there.

  • Hello

My family are abroad and I usually send small token gifts to open, hair bobbles, calendars and other small, lightweight things and enclose dollars in a card. Lately I have found a site "The Book Depository" (sorry don't know how to do links) They have a vast range of books and post world wide FREE. Hope this is of help. :)
