My Husband took out a loan with Lloyds TSB and took out payment protection insurance at the same time, he is self employed but has had no work for a few months, can he claim on his protection plan for the loan payments or will it just pay the interest if in fact he can claim at all ?

It may be a case of miselling here.
If the bank knew he was self employed then he normally can't claim for that part of the policy(although he could claim on the sickness side) he should not have been sold it.
Ask the bank for a copy of their recommendation which should show why he was advised to take out this cover.0 -
