How I am going to keep myself sane for 3 years...
I collect points through pigsback and get about a tenners worth of boots vouchers a month - generally buy a couple of treats with that.
Ive promised myself that when I pay off my halifax credit card (hopefully around June, I can have a payment break, and instead of diverting the money im overpaying into it to my other debts, I can go visit some frineds in Ireland. Next month - it all gets diverted into my next target!
I will prob give myself a break at christmas too. At least half a break anyhow.
Bottle of wine (special offer in the supermarket
) on a friday night... 0 -
pizza hut is on one of the mystery shops as is Macds if you are into that sort of thing.
Free cinema, plus dvd tarting is good
I sometimes go for the 3 magazines for a quid deals ( on the shop dont drop board) especially if theres some good freebies with them
I watched the growing own veg prog last night, if I had kids, its that sort of thing Id be getting them to do, they really learn from it, and voila free food! Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Wow! thanks for all the replies

I've already started some things, Pizza hut delivery on a friday night via mystery shopping, and I'm taking the children to lots of free museum activities at the weekend. I'm definitely going to have to look for cinema vouchers and do some DVD tarting.0 -
pandaonmyshoulder wrote:I too am a SAHM of 4 and although we don't have much debt we don't have much money coming in either. We don't have take aways or McDonald (even though some vouchers have just come through the letterbox) and these days my kids prefer my OS pizza and the smell from KFC makes then heave. Each Friday we have a "pizza night" and DVD usually hired from the Library as it's cheaper (already done as much DVD tarting as poss).
It is difficult to keep on track and sometimes I must admit I get cheesed off "doing without" but I would rather do without than go into debt.
Over Xmas I got talked into having a family meal at Nandos and although it was nice I nearly chocked on the cost, for me the expense takes the enjoyment out of it. I know though that I am becoming slightly obsesive and need to "chill alittle" as all this doing without is giving me brain ache;)
Same here 'm a SAHM with 4 children and we do the same as you. DH hates it if we ever have to go out for a meal (i.e. family event) becasue i never enjoy it due to thinking how expensive it wil be and without sounding bigheaded my own food is usually nicer.0 -
I just looked at the shop and scan site...any idea on how to get an invitation??0
