Tinned value pineapple

Does tinned pineapple have the same nutritional value as fresh?
I ask because the tinned value stuff is so cheap and can make my own fruit medley with apples and stuff for work.

The main thing I look out for is that it is in "natural juice". The syrup version will add lots of sugar.0

Mr S basic tinned Pinapple is in 'juice', I remember looking into it for my lot a while ago, and couldn't find an issue with using it over fresh.We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. No it's not the same nutritional value but it is very similar. Obviously the tin will list specific nutritional values for that particular brand but to get a general idea of the differences between raw (fresh) pineapple & the various canned options commonly available take a look at this comparison site.

Thing is I am on a very low budget for food, I got very cheap tins of fruit off my local market and think its better to use these as an alternative as most weeks there would be no fruit at all.Slimming World at target0 -
I can't see how properties like sugar content or amount of fiber could change. However, heat and time degrade vitamins and tinned food is subjected to both. I strongly suspect a reduction in vitamins, but how much? I honestly don't know. It may be fairly insignificant, or it might be a lot. I attempted to google it and found various sources saying very little effect and other saying that canned food is nutritionally devoid junk. None however presented much evidence. To be fair though, I'm not too worried. Canned food is a very small part of my diet, but I do buy tinned pineapple as it's convenient and saves me wasting lots. So, I eat a couple of cans of pineapple a month, I'm not going to get scurvy and even at the worst case scenario regarding the vitamins, it's still far better than a cream cake or fast food burger.0
