Ebay - Newman Debt Collectors Advice

Hi guys,

Il make this brief as there are similar threads.

Im aware of what Newman Ltd do, but heres my situation.

I owe ebay around £26, however Newman are wanting around £34.

Now, im assuming that this is a charge Newman have put on, so they get some reward for continually chasing me everyday calling me.

If i go on my emails, it says I can pay ebay the ammount of £26 for seller fees.

So my question is.....

Can i get away with just paying ebay the 26, or do i now have to pay newman the 34 because ebay have sold them the debt???

thanks

  • Have you got a letter from Newman? If so just pay it off online today, then call Newman tomorrow and play dumb. Tell them that you paid your fees last night and got a letter from them this morning.
  • The address newman have of me, is not my current one.

But they do have my phone number. and their annoying me, so im gunna pay.

Wot i was meaning is, when i was on the phone to newman, he specifically mentioned "Make sure you pay us"

I get the impression, im quite within my rights to pay ebay and then it to be done. But if they make me pay them, they get a cut.

    Is this true?

Am i allowed to now pay ebay and save myself the £8

they wont own it, but they will get reward from ebay. tell them todo one and pay ebay direct.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Pity you can't find the Director of Newman's home phone number. I'm sure he would like you to call him at 3 in morning as this would make sure he was up in time to go to work.
