Birkenstock sizing?

Not sure I have posted this in the right place but really looking for some advice please! Have found some cheap leather gizeh birkenstocks on amazon but am struggling to determine what size to buy. I am a UK size 5, but cannot decide between the EU 37 (UK 4-4.5) AND EU 38 (UK 5-5.5). Have read all the various sizing guides but am still unsure. When stood in the 37 I've got a few mm in front of toes and behind heel. When stood in the 38 I've got around 10mm in front of toes and behind heel. I know it's all about how they feel on but really can't decide! Any birki owners out there know which one I should go with?

I would go for the 38.Check if the footprint on the footbed is a solid (narrow fit) or outline(regular) I tend to go for my usual size but a narrow fit, as these shoes should be a generous fit but not clumpy the narrower of the two fit better
Life is like a bath, the longer you are in it the more wrinkly you become.

I have few pairs and have tried many more over the years and always had to go for a size smaller (39 instead of my usual 40/41). Whilst buying my last pair last month, I was even debating if I should go for 38 but as I was buying that particular model (Madrid) for around the house, I've gone for 39 so I can wear them with my socks in the winter months. :D
I would recommend you go for 37.

Are they available through Javari? Free returns if they don't fit.
  • I always buy a size smaller in the birkie sandals xx
  • Thanks for the replies! the trouble is that both fit, I know birkis are meant to be roomy but wasn't sure how roomy.. I feel I should go for the 38 but when I walk my foot goes forward and there's over half an each of spare sandal at the back! am feeling that at least with the 37 I will get the benefit of the heel cup and the extra support?! decisions decisions!!!
