Credit Rating Problem

Hi guys, im new to this forum but been reading it for a few years now, its helped quite alot in the past.
Ive just oredered my credit score through experian and im quite shocked by it, i wonder if someone can help me understand whats going on.

The last time i got my credit score was in 2009 (From Experian), and i scored a total of 729, which put me in the fair catergory, and also this information :

Factors that are having a positive effect on your score

The outstanding balance on your credit accounts (excluding your mortgage) is low
Factors that are having a negative effect on your score

You have county court judgments or have been made bankrupt in the last six years
You have made two or fewer applications for credit in the last six months
You are not on the electoral roll (registered to vote) at your current address

So, as you can see, ive had a bit of trouble with debt in the past, but in the past few years have sorted myself out so i thought i would check it, hoping that it would be a very high score. But its telling me ive got a score of 433, which puts me in the poor catargory, it also tells me this information:

Factors that are having a positive effect on your score

You are on the electoral roll (registered to vote) at your current address
You have made two or fewer applications for credit in the last six months
You don't have any county court judgments and you have not been declared bankrupt in the last six
years

Factors that are having a negative effect on your score

Please not that the box is empty that usually displays what is going against you, and as you can see my ccj has cleared and im on the electoral roll.... So what the hell is making my score so low? As im a bit miffed by all this!

Sorry for the long post, but i hope someone can help me!

Thanks

Mark

  • It depends on lots of things!

How much credit do you have available in ratio to your earnings?

How much of your available credit are you using?

Do you have a contract mobile phone that is being paid every month?

Have you applied for loans/credit cards recently which would involve a credit search?

All these things could affect your credit rating so you probably need to provide abit more information!

    Hope that helps! :)
i wish my bank account could keep up with my Rockstar Lifestle!
