I wanna dishwasher proof placemat

Due to having two children who spill more food than they eat I need a placemat which can be put in the dishwasher. I therefore cannot have leather, or cork backed types. I would rather not have glass (see below). I have seen some Italian plastic placemats at £10 each but this seems excessive. Any ideas?

(I am looking to change my glass placemats, after having them shatter twice on me. This week I tapped the corner of one and there was a load crack an pieces shot up into a 6ft radius, hitting me in the face. I had 1000+ shards of glass circling my dining table. I have checked online and this is not uncommon in tempered glass).
