Are Asda's (George) Clothes Any Good?

I've seen some very smart dresses at Asda for about £18 - £20. Although they look OK, I'm not too sure how well they will wash.

I'd be interested to hear your thoughts about the quality of Asda's clothes, if they are a false economy, etc.

As I'm on a budget, if you could please recommend other cheaper shops where I can buy clothes suitable for job interviews or work in general, that would be great. (I'm not too keen on Primark).

Thanks in advance.

I'll check Sainsburys and see what they've got. Thanks

You are welcome you can get good bargains when they have 25% off sales.
  • Ive never bought from asda myself but i know the quality of the kids clothes is better than some of the childrens clothes stores.
Have you looked around matalan? they do work clothes at reasonable prices, they could be a discount code floating about aswell x

I find asda clothes wash and wear as well as those from anywhere else. They have some really great dresses at the moment. I agree that Sainsburys are also good value and reasonable quality. I find George and Sainsburys clothes last longer for me than Matalan.
  • Most of my wardrobe consists of George clothes. I've bought the majority of them when they have their sales, which is quite often. They wash well and are of good quality.
  • The kids clothes are fine - wash really well, the school uniform is good quality. Bought a couple of cardigans from there for myself which are fine. Not seen much else I liked in my nearest as its pretty small.

I've been buying work clothes from Asda recently (have been losing weight and wanted some in a lower size but cheapish as hopefully will keep losing!) have been very unimpressed with them. Bought some work pants with a pinstripe about 3 weeks ago and have about half a dozen threads from the stripe bits coming out already so looks messy. The ones I bought before that the hem on the legs came down after 2 weeks so had to redo and again constant loose threads. Am just going to give up on them I think and try Matalan.
