Rant on Barclays money transfer service

Is there a bank whose current a/c service allows you to transfer more than £1000 per day via internet banking? We wanted to transfer £8000 which hit out account recently to an internet savings A/c. Their telephone banking service limits you to £5,000 a day and we eventually had to drive to a branch with two signed ID documents (passport & driving licence) and they then wanted to charge £20 to transfer via CHAPS. As we're interest rate tarts, these sorts of transactions are going to happen fairly frequently and we don't want to continually hit the buffers every time we need to transfer bigger sums. Any advice please?

Yorkshire Bank is £5K for funds transfers (and unlimited, I believe, for 'bill payments'). If it's a joint account, each can send £5k meaning higher value transfers are possible.
Nationwide is quite high as well, I believe.
There was a thread running on this very topic on the current accounts board last year. Maybe a search would find it?0
