Do you have any diamond earrings buying advice?

Thank you all for the wonderful advice on quality, design, cost, and shops. One of the most important things I've realised I need to do is not spend the money without being certain that my wife will love them or that I can return them. What I might do is take a photo of the earrings and give that to her as the gift before we go to buy them together. Alternatively, I like the gift voucher idea or getting the earrings wrapped in plastic so they are returnable. Whatever I do, thank you all for helping to put the big smile on my OH's face that'll happen when she gets the earrings!0

whilst usually I'd agree size is important with diamonds I've only got little ears so if I had 1ct studs in each ear (:rotfl: like that's gonna happen) they'd look HUGE and out of place so it's not that simple.
The hot diamonds are pretty but not a lot of diamond in most of them.
Lovely idea though and I'm sure she'll love whatever she ends up with! :T0
