Its coming up to xmas and usually shops like asda or tesco are throwing desktop deals in your face, this year I cant find any!! I need a desktop fro my 2 children (age 6 & 8) I was thinking about a tablet for them but after hmming and haaaing i think they are a bit young for those so can anyone point me in the general direction of a suitable desktop please?
I have no idea what im looking for regarding ram and gb and all that stuff so I basically want it for them to play games on and go on cbeebies sites etc.
Thanks in advance

Any computer system can do this for surfing the net to see the website like this one you just use explorer or firefox (or c beebes)Its coming up to xmas and usually shops like asda or tesco are throwing desktop deals in your face, this year I cant find any!! As for Playing games and that sort of stuff here is some of the pointers you need to consider
Inside your desktop computer is the processor which is the brains of the computer system, As for ram Ram is just memory to keep your programs you are using on it (like microsoft word or games ect) working
in theory the higher the Processor such as Intel I7 or I5 the faster it could run many things at once.(like youtube videos internet and games ect at once for example)
Just to be safe make sure the computer or desktop machine has a good graphics card such as Nvida or ATI not a onboard shared one with the memory.
2 or 4 GB or ram is good for gaming but try this http://www.ebuyer.com/store/Computer/cat/Desktop-PC there some pretty good machines for a good price for what you want.
I would look around at computer places like Dabbs.co.uk not asda or tesco as some of the computer's will be missing something or be just pretty standard computers with bigger price taggs
Or my best place to look is computer magazines like a copy of computer shopper for a pound as there are so many good companies in there with better warrenty's ect, Some good deals as well and a quick call can tell you what you may be after form a computer specialist rather the shelves stacker of asda who dont have a clue on computers
edit: Also have a read of this since your kids are young to determine what would be of good use for them

Hi there - we buy all our family's pcs from Ebuyer. Had to return one once with a fault and it couldn't have been more stress free! The PC's have been great so far. We bought them without operating systems, buying and installing our own. They also come without periphals - but you can get great prices on them these days (or use ones from your old machine, perhaps?)“When the customer comes first, the customer will last”0
