Hello,
I recently bought some tickets to a local theatre online. There was an option for 'free tickets' or 'full price' so i clicked on the free ticket box and ordered three. I had to pay a booking fee for each ticket and i received these in the post last week. Unfortunately now i have had an email from the theatre saying that this was due to an error on their booking system and to give them a call to arrange payment.
Can anyone advise where i stand legally? Thank you x

If they made a mistake, (which it sounds like), then you do owe them for the tickets.0

I would agree if they hadn't sent the tickets out yet, but the OP has recieved the tickets, so surely the contract has been concluded.
Unless of course there are over-riding T&C's on the website? If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Ticket websites do (usually!) have all these possibilities covered in the ts + cs.
And of course the OP has yet to actually sit in the seats!0 -
Interesting one - is a ticket a voucher that you can exchange for an evening's entertainment, so the contract not yet completed? Maybe try asking the armchair lawyers in 'consumer rights' forum. Expect abuse, or at least in your opening post explain that you are going to pay, but are just interested in the point of law - should cause some bunfights!0

I actually think your probs within your rights. If something at a till rings up wrong. The min they take your money they HAVE to honour the sale. I would say this falls under the came laws. Its under consumer rights and goods trading laws. If it rings up wrong and they notice they have the right to REFUSE you sale but once payment has been made and item moved hand they have to sell at that price. Give them a ring. I am actually about 80% sure they have to honour them. Picked up a few bits of stupid sales law's over the years because dad's had his own business since I was tiny. Pretty sure they cover tickets. Like I say ring they can help u xx
