Certified copies

I have to send some certified copies to the solicitor for my remortgage, (Identification and marriage certificate).
It has to be certified by a solicitor or bank manager.
The remortgage is with RBS
Can i just drop into a branch of RBS to do this or would it have to be my own bank which isnt RBS?
Would I need to make an appointment?
Would there be a charge for this?
If i went to a solicitor to do it would I need to make an appointment and how much do they usually charge for this service?
I would be grateful for any advice.

We have just handled a client's port/additional borrowing with RBS (an absolute nightmare as they object to advisers "on the basis that - and this is a quote !! - we might influence the client's decision"), but they took certified documents from us and also offered a free option to the clients to call into any branch for this service.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Your own solicitor doing the conveyencing shouldn't charge, any other probably will.
Your own bank in my experience, shouldn't charge either.
As SPM says, normally the adviser should be able to certify, how very mistrustful of advisers RBS are ..

Remortgage will probably be a 'free solicitor' who is asking for that information, so client won't have an acting solicitor of their own.
Out of fairness, RBS did accept the certified documents from us (but they were totally obstructive at evry other stage) but the point is the OP can also go to any RBS branch for the free service.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature.
