The Enigmatic P87 Form - Please Clear This Up For Me..

Hi all,
I'll keep this relatively simple as I'm sure most are tired of P87 questions!
I have a company car.
My contract says I am based in the main office. (I know the HMRC don't care much what the contract says, but still!)
I drive to a clients office 5 days a week, approx 75 mile round trip. For which I am paid 14/15p a mile.
I have been driving to that office for the past 4 or 5 months on a secondment (no choice in the matter)
All I want to know is am I wasting my time in filling out a P87 form. I obtained mileage expense logs from work and sent them into HMRC. Was asked for P60's etc, sent all those in, all seems OK so far.
But I'm still unsure whether I can even claim the difference between what I am paid in expenses compared to the gov rate as I have a company car and the commute is not necessarily claimable depending on whether the HMRC deem my secondment to be my main place of work.
Anyone else had success with the P87 in a similar situation to me or could offer to shed some light would be HUGELY appreciated.
Thanks

Depends on cc of the car , wheter petrol or diesel etc.
New rates here:
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/cars/advisory_fuel_current.htm0 -
1364?cc 1.4litre car and I receive 15p a mile as it says on those rates.
That doesn't tell me whether I'm actually entitled to claim anything though, which is what I'm unsure of.
Thanks0 -
Looks like you are entitled to claim 15p per mile tax free and that is exactly what your employer is paying you, I'm afraid - hence no claim due!0

P87 is for using your own car, not a company car0
