... on getting some alone time immediately after the ceremony?
Every wedding I've been to has had two venues (ceremony and reception) and the newlyweds travel on their own for half hour or so before joining the guests again.
But we're at the same venue for the whole day, so I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to how we can grab some time before the madness starts again? We can't really go for a walk around the grounds, and not sure whether it would be appropriate to say we're heading to our hotel room for a while! (as much as I'd like to!)
Any thoughts/advice welcome.

we had a civl wedding in a hotel- and straight after me and hubby went into the room where the poker table and bucks fizz were to welcome everyone in- then the photographer took me hubby and the bridal party for pictures- we had the done- and then all guests went back to room to play games and sweetie table- hubby and i had our alone photos taken- we then told photographer we wanted a few mins alone- and we just sat on a bench outside for 5 mins. it doesnt have to be long- or anywhere special- as long as you get it! (and i mean time alone!)Is a married woman!! 23rd July 2011 Best day of my life!

Yep, wedding breakfast for ceremony guests, then we're moving into the drawing room and inviting everyone from about 5pm so they can hear the speeches - a buffet will be ready for them. We have a photographer just to do the formals so guess we could ask him to leave us for a few mins? I just want to share at least some of the day with him alone! : ) x0

somone i know had thewhole thing in one place and they got the driver to drive them off for a while, just around the block but that depends if ur having a car to the venue xAccept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue. Only fools are statues every day. (15.09.12 cant wait!)0

We have about 1-1.5 hrs between the meal and evening do starting so me an OH will have some us time when we go to the room to freshen up and relax for a little while.there is a lrge lobby in the hotel so guests will be able to relax there until the evening starts plus all of the day guests are sstaying over.i was going to suggest that if u had spare time inbetween the meals finishing and the evening starting then you could have some alone time then0

I'm not getting a car to the venue, will probably stay there the night before. I reckon just asking the photographer to give us a few mins to ourselves is the way to go. I'd still welcome any ideas though!0

I'm sure it will be easy enough to get the odd minute to yourselves here and there. Anyway, isn't the whole point of the wedding supposed to be a celebration of your marriage with friends and family? Surely it will be possible to go one day in the prescence of others?
In saying that, I do kinda understand that with the hectic nature of the day, you might want a bit of piece and quiet for a few mins.Getting married to a wonderful lady on August 10, 2012.
Need to save up, lose weight, reduce my money worries and get back to being the real me! :j0 -
Oh of course, I wouldn't have guests if I didn't want them there! We'll be with our guests till the wee small hours as they're staying at the hotel; we've also decided to have a night in a bridal suite a couple of nights later so we can make the most of it, so I just think it'll be nice to grab a few minutes alone during the day we get married! :-)0

We're lucky - we've got about an hours drive to the evening venue
But the people we're having our cars from offer a drive round for couples with the whole day and evening in one place - they get their glass of bubbly and a chance to relax together while they get taken off for a local drive0
