I'm off on a mystery shop tonight and have left dinner for my 18 yr bil. Becuase I know he's a bit useless, I cooked the pasta, let it cool, and put it on a plate. Then plonked cooked spag bol on top of it and left it in the microwave for him.
This is okay just to heat up like this isn't it? For about 2-3 mins. Don't usually do things this way, but if I didn't make it simple, he would have cereal for dinner.

He should be fine so long as the room's cool. Only thing is to get him to microwave it until it's piping hot. I often have a problem with my other half with that. He says "How long should he heat it for?" I say, "Until it's hot." He says "How long will that be?" I despair!
I could make it better myself at home. All I need is a small aubergine...
I moved to Liverpool for a better life.
And goodness, it's turned out to be better and busier!0 -
Only thing I would do different is put it in the fridge until he's ready to have it!
Have you remembered to cover it?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Hi Pollyanna,
Pasta can dry out a bit so make sure he knows to keep it covered while it's reheating and to make sure it's reheated until it's very hot.
More importantly as Queenie has said it should be stored in the fridge. It's not a good idea to leave a meaty sauce sitting at room temperature all day.

I leave mine covered and in the fridge. In fact I had it last night and it tasted better than before !!!0

Oops, it's already sitting in the microwave and I'm at work. Never mind, he'll live.
I know you're not supposed to do it, but I often cook pots of food, leave it to cool, before I know it, it's the morning, and that's when it's end up in freezer/fridge.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I go for the "as long as I have boiled it up for about 5 minutes we'll live" approach. AFAIK we haven't had food poisoning yet :rotfl:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0

If he doesn't like it, it will encourage him to learn to cook for himself0
