Online glasses

Options
I am due an optical test and I am sure I will have to replace my lenses.

Is it safe to use online opticians and has anyone had good or bad experiences and can recommend one?

Also my lenses are breaking and I have glued one side and I have to keep screwing the other. If I glue the second side, will they stay safe or am I risking that one day the glasses will completely break and leave me blind?

I bought mine from Valley Optics and had no problems and would recommend them.

There's nothing to stop you browsing in stores, making note of the model numbers and then finding somewhere online that does them.
  • Have look here & here.
  • Thanks for the replies. I had read the articles, but I was looking for proof from consumers that the online ones are fine as my mum is a bit skeptical and doesn't think that sending them yourself is exactly the same as getting the optician to do the same job for a lot more money.
  • Perhaps you could have a look to see what others are saying about buying glasses online.

All of my families’ eyeglasses are from zennioptical.com. Before that, I have heard many of my friends rave about this company. So I ordered one pair just for a try and was very surprised at the ones I received. The glasses were of great quality and the RX was dead on. Since then, I only get glasses from Zenni.
they are an American site so import costs make it unlikely to be worthwhile.
