I've gone and fallen in love with a Jenny Packham dress
not very money saving!!
I had no idea what type of dress I was after, other than ideally wanting to hire it or get it very cheaply!! So I went to a dress shop for the first time on Saturday, quite an upmarket one, thinking I would use their knowledge and service to find out a style I like, before then going to cheaper shops (Oxfam Bridal etc) to find something similar style, but much more within budget.
I never expected to find something I liked so much!!
It is this dress - the photo doesn't do it justice, it's all chiffon-ey and the beads make a gorgeous noice when you move :rotfl:
As I have no hope of affording it (or wanting to pay that much for a dress, even if I could) I was wondering - have any of you come across a similar dress in your dress shopping travels? I have no idea what other designers/shops do similar floaty/romantic/chiffon style dresses?
Many thanks!

No idea, but the lass modeling that dress could do with a good feed, she looks awfully skinny and miserable.0

It's not quite the same - and I don't know how much it'd be in comparison to the dress you've seen but what about this:

You do see Jenny Packham wedding dresses on ebay so while it is a long shot it might be worth keeping your eyes open for one similar on there. I've just had a look and there are a few nice ones, though none exactly the same on there now.0

Oh dear indeed!!! its a beautiful dress and I agree with the lure of the 'swish', it makes it feel so special (my dress was heavily beaded and had a lovely swish!)
A brief look comes up with a similar shape in lace in Atalaya by Manuel Motas for provonias. Its lace tiers though so no swishy beads.
Also Charlotte Balbier 'Olympia' has a tier detail with dangly beads at the top. Sorry cant post links as the dresses are not on their own pages.
Some absolutely gorgeous ones by Alfred Sung, nothing the same as the Jenny P, but all floaty and beaded http://www.alfredsungbridals.com/collectionparadise_a.html and my fave http://www.alfredsungbridals.com/stylehtml/6806.html
You may find something similar in the 'cheaper' designers new collections as they edge more into vintage styles. I cant recall anything similar in the old collections or I would have worn it! Also worth looking at places like Phase eight, coast and monsoon when their new collections come out.
Similar dresses on Johanna Hehir but they are just as pricey as Jenny P.
Alternatively find a dressmaker and get one made...0
