Making my own invites

I saw some great invites in Hobbycraft a while ago where it's like an envelope with different sections for service, reception, map, hotels etc and liked that but they were so expensive and then after thinking about it, realised that most people are local so don't need hotel info and our ceremony and reception are in the same place!
I then ordered some sample invites for free from Confetti.com and really liked this one that is DL envelope size and the card is white on the outside and coloured on the inside and was going to get my mum to ask if something similar could be made via a stationer nearby as they were quite expensive, but then found single sided coloured card online and the company cut and fold the card for free, I made little bow's myself (2 metres of ribbon for under a £1 and made 30 bows while watching TV) and the cards are coming in at £8 for 30 invites! Going to assemble them soon which won't be tricky as it's all scored etc it's just a case of printing the inside of the invite and because I'm doing them I can print the names if I want to personnalise them. They're not the same as the sample I got, but better as I could chose what I wanted to add.
Also I got evening invites from paperchase, and they were just normal invites with a floral front for £10 for 24 cards and I brought 90p 'evening invitation' silver stickers to put on the front.
Amazing how when you say 'wedding' the price of everything goes up. It's so much easier, if you can, to do the invites yourself. Think I'll be doing my own seating plan too.
