How Can I Get Them To Stop?

I wrote to a company called Link Financial after about 3 years of receiving letters and two visits to my home from them with regards to the previous owner of my home.

I informed them the previous owner sold up in Sept 2008 and I had no contact details for him. They wrote back stating that even though they know he has left they have to continue writing to my home as the have no forwarding details for him!

This seems absolutely crazy in my opinion. After three years I'm tired having to write 'Left in 2008- no forwarding address' and then have to return it. I don't think it's right just to throw someone's else post in the bin.

Are they correct or do I have the right to demand they stop sending letters to my home? I'd attach a copy of the letter I received from them but I can't find the option!!!

Previous owners of our house got repossessed. We got high court baliffs writing to them, mortgage companies, loan companies, the works.

At first I went along with calling and writing to the companies - especially the high court baliff, to whom I did send proof we had purchased the house. Eventually we stopped doing it. We opened the letters when they kept coming.

You can't make them stop writing to you, but you can throw the letters away. If it is the same company who keep writing to you, then they know you have told them you are not Mr Random Debtor.

How about looking for the details of the CEO for Link and writing a formal complaint to him/her (saying on it that you want it treated as a formal complaint) explaining that you have told them for years etc and you want them to stop?
