As far as I know, stamps are a fixed price regardless of where you buy them.
  • Often Superdrug have 1st class stamps with 5% off. Not sure when they're next doing it though but it is a saving although small!;)
  • If it's someone you don't like/bill, then hust don't put a stamp on it and let the person getting the letter pay for it. You can also ask for a "proof of posting" at the post office - IT'S FREE ;)

Well, that's a bit daft. If you don't put a stamp on the letter then it's very possibly not going to be collected by the recipient (especially as they have to pay extra) and if it's a bill you're paying then the payment wont reach them.

Proof of posting without putting a stamp on the envelope? Have you really thought that one through?

Won't work as the staff have to stamp it which they won't do of course without a stamp.

you can now get stamps online at tesco - so I'm assuming they'd qualify for points etc.

Sadly I think that assumption is incorrect. They don't give points on stamps.:(
