DMP/Creditors/Payments

Hi all,

After contacting CCCS I decided to go on a dmp and sent off letters to all my creditors last week. I've made token payments to some of them, planning to do the rest tomorrow. Still receiving letters/calls/messages from some creditors about contacting them in 'this personal matter' (those I haven't made a payment to just yet, I suppose that's why). Is it normal to still receive letters/calls from them? DMP should start in February. I haven't received any phone call/letter or email from CCCS yet. Should I call them again?
Many thanks,
taj

Re still getting letters/calls from creditors, that may still happen even a few months into your DMP. Hopefully most if not all will accept your proposals straight away, however, steel yourself for the prospect of one or more still giving you a bit of grief for a month or so yet. At the end of the day you've just got to stick to your guns. You are paying all that you can afford, you have no extra money, you have sent them a copy of your income/expenditure, if they have any further issues - direct them to CCCS - thank you and goodnight!

Was your contact with CCCS via their online assessment part of the website or did you have a telephone interview to pull together all of the details for your DMP? If it was the website, might be best to give them a call just to check that everything is ok - though it probably is.

If it was a telephone interview, have you sent off and received back the various pieces of info and the agreement you have to sign?

I haven't, I thought CCCS will do that.

Yes, it was. I sent off the signed agreement last week.

I suppose I should call CCCS tomorrow to find out how everything's going or what to do next.

I never had to deal with a creditor from the minute i had my phone interview with my DMP company, im will a fee paying company which i now know isnt ideal, but after reading some people experiences of cccs and payplan, i am think of staying with them.
They contacted all my creditors for me and if any phoned me up, i read out a statment the company gave me quoting my ref no and dmp phone number, i spoke over the top of the creditor on the other end of the line if they didnt listen and hung up after completing the statment. It took only 4 weeks for the calls to stop and all my creditors agreed to the repayments, and all stoped interest.
I didnt have to send off any more payments from the day i spoke to the dmp.
The company dealt with filling in a court form for a debt which was being taken to court when i went on the dmp, they sorted everything out. They ring me every week ask if im ok, if anything is worrying me and support me in making budgets ect.
I have been with them a year now, and i am in a hugely better state of mind and can afford to live, where as before i was getting desperate.

Give your company a ring that is what they are there for to help you and answer your questions.
    Good luck

I started my DMP with CCCS 1st January and most of the calls( only citicard still calling) and letters ( only Lloyds still writing!) have stopped. phone CCCS and they will reassure you and if you do get letters/calls give them your CCCS number and say goodbye.

    Hi Tom and Jerry

you have sent them a copy of your income/expenditure, if they have any further issues - direct them to CCCS - thank you and goodnight!I haven't, I thought CCCS will do that.

What I meant was that if any of your creditors call, you simply state that a copy of the income/expenditure has been sent to them (whether it be from CCCS or directly from you). You might find that some of them deny receiving anything for a while. It is amazing how often there are backlogs in their mailrooms! I'm such a cynic these days.
  • stick with it dont give in when they ring or write continue making the payments youve offered and dont pay any extra
