it may interest you that c&g do exclusive broker rates on 2 and 5yr FF that are quite a bit lower than the rates they offer directly to clients. not sure if they'd still be offer on a simple product transfer, but it's worth checking it outI am a Mortgage Adviser

They have great 2 year (I think 4.95%) and 5 year fixed (5.09%) but only through intermediaries and, they tell me, NOT available for existing borrowers doing a product switch.
There are a number of good 2 year and 5 year fixed from a few lenders at the moment, but they are all being pulled or increased at short notice at the moment.I am a Mortgage Adviser

My deal is due to end at the end of this month with the C and G, I gave them a phone yesterday quoting some deals from the Yorkshire, was offered a deal of 5.09% for five years fixed rate but there is a fee of £999 and is not negitionable (C and G were fairly insistant about it).
Yorkshire also do 5.09% but there is a fee £599 plus valuation and solicitor fees or 5.59% for five years with no fees, the will organise valuation and solicitor with no product fee. You can pay in extra too with no penalties but a maximum of 10 % of your mortgage per year, interest calculated daily. Any overpayments can reduce your term or reduce your monthy payments.
Not to sure which one to go for though.0 -
Don't forget the £225 ( i think) exit fees you will have to pay C&GI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. i've quickly emailed my BDM about it to see what she says, and will tell you when she replies.
A cheeky thing you could try if they wont give you the exclusive, is to remortgage to lloyds, who do exactly the same deals as C&G. You'll have to go through a broker, but legal and val fees will be covered, allowing you to take advantage of lower rate dealsI am a Mortgage Adviser
