Day 31 – Not goodbye, just au revoir!
Fly babies
You have now accumulated the habits of
Writing our spends
‘fessing them up
Minimising mobiles
Keeping to our shopping lists
Packing a lunch
Banishing brands
Taking care of our pennies
Foraging in our freezers & cupboards
Filing our bills
Fighting our latte factor
Menu planning
Budging our debts with budgets
Snowballing
What’s more you have a monthly budget drawn up, you’re not paying any more for your utilities etc than you have to and you’re receiving your full income and benefits. Look back to your one day old self and then feel proud of all you have achieved. You have formed money saving habits that will last you a lifetime, and if you ever slip off the wagon all you need do is come back and start writing down your spends again.
Armed with the basics you are now fully equipped to go out into the debt free wannabe board, and other money saving boards and start on new challenges which will help you finesse your money saving and shave more off your budget, or simply pass the time away while you wait for your debts to disappear.
Go crazy, do whatever you want to do, find something that catches your eye and join in. For tasters here’s some of the things that were going on at the time of writing this thread:
Over on the debt free wannabe board you could join in Annie’s Olympic challenge
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=338896
where you compete to make extra income
or collect your £2, 50ps or 20ps and watch them add up.
You could get yourself a mortgage pig and join in over on the Homes and Mortgages board
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=169247
even if you don’t have a mortgage then a debt free pig would work in the same way – you feed it change or money from when you have resisted a temptation, and watch the savings pile up
Or over on Old Style there is the grocery challenge, where you try and come in under your food budget each month.
