I bought a solar lamp in my local store last week. It states on the box that in order to get optimum solar battery life, the lamp during the first use needs to be placed in a sunlight for 24 hours! My first thought was, this is the wrong time of the year.. and my second thought was, when and where exactly on earth you can get 24 hours of direct sunlight ??!!!

In the Arctic Circle in June-July and the Antarctic Circle in December-January. Of couse, if you are setting up your lights in those places at those times, then you won't actually need the light........
